Egypt Salsa Congress

You may already have heard but if not, 30 October 2009 will be the opening day of the first Egypt Salsa Congress!

That’s right, a salsa congress in the land that invented body isolations a couple of thousand years ago. And, if the enthusiasm of the person organizing the event (Amanda), is anything to go by it will be a blast!

But what do we know about the Egypt Salsa Congress so far? As this is the first salsa Congress in Egypt we can’t go back and ask the organization or participants about previous events. Amanda has agreed to do an interview so we will be able to ask her anything we would like to know about her and the Egypt Salsa Congress (feel free to mail in questions you want me to ask her).

But that doesn’t mean we don’t know anything at all. Some of the artists/instructors have already been announced (Frankie Martinez, Luis & Melissa, Supermario, Susan Montero, Leon Rose, and others). However, she is also holding some names back until after the prices go up. I guess we’ll have to wait a bit longer for those.

And that is not all that we know. The official website for the Egypt Salsa Congress tells us that there will be pool parties, after parties and more parties. Rumour has it that we’ll have something to do (not including sleep) 24 hours per day. And this is Egypt so while most of Europe and the US are preparing for winter (by having tons of rained poured down on us) Egypt will still be sunny and warm!

That, together with Amanda’s enthusiasm has won me over and I will definitely be there. (And no, it’s not just because I’m dutch and the prices are low !)

But, because the price for a full pass is amongst the lowest I’ve seen for this year I decided to do something else. I’m going to get an extra full pass and I will give that second full pass away a reader of my blog. That’s a right, you could be the one who gets a free full pass for the first Egyptian Salsa congress!

So how can you get that full pass?

That’s easy! Before the end of this week I’ll put up a page that will allow you to enter your details. And entering is all you need to do. Then, come the end of September I will randomly draw a winner from among the people that have entered and he or she will win the free Egypt Salsa Congress pass!

That is just how easy it is to get a free pass!

Now I can already hear one objection…

If you are anything like me and you know that you want to attend the congress anyway than you don’t want to wait until September to find out if you have won a pass. After all, by that time the prices will have gone up and you would have to pay more to still get your pass. So what do you do . . .

Just go over to the official Egypt Salsa congress website (http://www.theegyptsalsacongress.com/tickets.html) right now and get your pass while the prices are low. Just don’t forget to enter ‘becomingasalsero.com’ in the box labeled “Please name the person/website who told you about THE Congress”. Amanda has kindly agreed to send me your details and when she does I will enter you into the competition manually. If you are chosen as the winner I will refund your ticket so hang on to your receipt!
