Alex da Silva’s new show, satire or publicity stunt?

Alex da Silva based his new salsa show on the events that recently took place in his life. It was taped at the Hamburg congress and, like so many other shows, put on youtube

Is it a way to defend himself? A way to explain the situation? Just a publicity stunt? Or, as he said in his interview with Edie, a satire? Will it hurt him in the long run or will it help him?

Personally, I don’t dare to make any predictions about that. Would I have done something similar if I was in his position? I don’t know. I guess not but then, I haven’t been in his shoes so I really can’t relate.

Either way, regardless of what the show is based on and/or how it is perceived, I am always impressed by people that try to get back in the saddle right after they have been thrown off of the horse.

Here is the show so you can form your own opinion:

And for something else entirely…

The Egypt Congress Full Pass giveaway competition is still open.  Don’t miss out on your chance to go there for free!

What a piece of shit! There is evidence and I hope he goes to hell for making light of the situation… he knows he is guilty and just because some salseros are too blinded by his fame to believe that he could do this doesn’t mean it isn’t true. Just ask the girls… not all of them are asking for money, in fact, most of them haven’t mentioned any compensation besides him going to jail. What a cocky son-of-a-bitch… I hope he rots in hell.

    What a pompous fool.

Hope he gets sodomized for the rest of his life in prison.

I tend agree on the ‘pompous fool’ part but that in itself is no reason for me to hope he ‘gets sodomized for the rest of his life in prison’.

Now if the charges turn out to be true….

There are consequences to everything. Many rape cases take years to have justice served. Time is finally up for Alex and he must now face the music. Alex already had a rape record building up way before the show SYTYCD even existed. It’s the system, or particular lacking District Attorneys, who are to blame for letting this go on for so long. Alex created his own so called Nightmare. Rot in hell! You deserve what’s to come.

I guess we will have to wait and see.

Rape cases are notoriously hard to prove. In this case I think it will be even harder as so much time has gone so there is not likely to be much evidence that can be produced to create a conclusive case.

As I have never met Alex I’m not forming an opinion just yet but instead I’ll wait for the outcome of the case. Perhaps he does deserve to rot in hell, perhaps he has been falsely accused. At this point both outcomes are equally viable.

thank you Admin for being objective.

No need to thank me for that. For me it goes without saying. I’m actually surprised to see so many people have formed an opinion without knowing Alex Da Silva or the victims.

i feel really sad that people who don´t even know my brother are being so cruel. this could happen to anyone, talk is cheap. and he´s paying for something that he didn´t do. so now all women have to do is say that someone raped them and gather a couple of friends to say practically the same story to try to make it stick and the guy goes to jail. i think that´s alot of bs . alex is innocent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yevrah, of course there are consequences for criminal offenses. If it stands to truth that this fellow, Alex, did this, then he should pay the piper like any other individual who would have committed such crimes. That being said, do you know for a fact that he committed these offenses ? On what basis do you support your opinion ? Taking a neutral position is always best, unless you have supporting evidence such crimes were committed by this fellow. Keep in mind, in the last few years, several men have been released from prison on rape charges after DNA proved they never committed the offense, but were accused and placed behind bars on the testimony of the victims. Are any of these girls possibly jealous of this man ? Of course it looks bad if more than 1 person accuses you of the same crime, however, this fellow from my understanding has danced with more than a 1000 different girls over the a 20 year period, and success has enemies. And in some cases, pile-on enemies. In this situation, if any two things could apply, it would be jealousy and envy. This is just my opinion, I think you should wait and see what happens in a court of law, not the public court of opinion. Keep in mind, if he was arrested in early 2009 and released due to a lack of evidence, then all of a sudden they believe they have enough because of some possible pressure from a higher authority to get this guy, then they will go after him, and throw the book. Don’t forget, D.A.’s like to have their place in the sun if they get a chance, and who better to do it to, than to someone who was able to avoid prosecution, then speak about it. D.A.’s can be vindictive too !!! Lets hope the truth will prevail.

I wish this gets cleared up and Alex can be left alone. I ve known him for many years and never has he tried to disrespect me or my friends in any way. I believe in his innocence. By nature Alex is flirtatious and promiscuous guy… Oh well – that doesnt make him a freakin’ rapist. My thoughts are with him…

    • admin says

You’re right, flirtatious and promiscuous does not equal rapist.

I do hope it turns out that the charges are false as it would disappoint me a lot if it turns out that he has abused his situation. I guess we’ll find out in the months to come.
